Vatuvara Private Islands

Land & Sea

No matter how you choose to relax– whether lying in a hammock with your favorite book, exploring an uninhabited island, yoga on your deck, playing a round of golf or spending all day on or in the ocean - VPI has many options.

We Love the Ocean

Whether trolling, popping, jigging or deep-sea game fish, there are unlimited choices here in the Northern Lau Group. Houdini - the island’s 11-meter Naiad boat is at the ready whenever you are. We endorse sustainable fishing with catch and release practices. Jump on one of our SUP’s or kayaks to explore our reefs and lagoon or to witness the spectacular sunsets from an ocean water perch.

Our fringing reefs are home to a variety of marine life as well as hard and soft corals. You can experience it snorkeling just off the island or travel a bit further and deeper free diving or scuba diving off one of our three Island Marina boats.  VPI offers licensed PADI instruction for scuba lessons and a minimum four-day course for Open Water Certification. All the equipment you need is here and available on the island.

Land Activities

The island boasts an organic four-hole golf course, putting green and club pavilion with shade, shower, and fresh cool drinks.

As a special treat for our guests, we offer a personal South Pacific private island picnic. Our marine fleet is at the ready to drop you off on one of the nearby uninhabited palm-fringed islands together with a cooler full of island delights, water toys, shade umbrella, comfy pillows and beach towels. Spend your time snorkeling or exploring and when you are ready we will whisk you back home.

Yoga instruction is on offer, and each Villa is provided with yoga mats for guest use. Maybe learn a few gourmet recipes with our cooking class. If you would like we can arrange a traditional kava ceremony and or meke (Fijian musical entertainment).

There is plenty to explore on Kaibu Island. Bring some good walking shoes for a trek to the Red Prawn Cave or for the more adventurous hike to an ancient Fijian Village.
